THE local government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), has already distributed food packs to 43 of Zamboanga City’s 98 villages amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) crisis.

Ma. Socorro Rojas, CSWDO chief, said that they have already distributed 51,187 food packs as of Monday, April 6.

Rojas said earlier that they are targeting to distribute food packs to 150,000 poor families in this city’s 98 villages.

She said six island villages namely, Busay, Landang Gua, Landang Laum, Pasilmanta, Manalipa, and Tumalutab were also covered, through the efforts of direct service and development workers, security forces and volunteers.

The CSWDO chief said each food pack contain three kilos of rice, three noodles, three canned sardines and three canned beef loaf or corned beef.

Rojas added that families in the lockdown areas of the village of Sinunuc, Tumaga, San Jose Gusu and Tetuan were provided with regular support as well.
