ANG City Government of Davao ug Sunrise Events, Inc. nakadesidar nga isibog ang 3rd Alveo Ironman 70.3 Davao sa Marso 21, 2021 inay nga himuon kini sa Mayo 10 kini tungod nagpadayon ang hulga sa Covid-19.
Kini na ang ikaduhang pagkadelatar sa lumba nga unang naka-iskedyul sa Marso 22, 2020.
Si Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office officer-in-charge Mikey Aportadera, sa Facebook Messenger interview, Biyernes sa gabii, Abril 10 nagsulti, “Initially because of the advisory ni Mayor, from March, we thought of moving it to May pero kay dili pa mahuman ang problema sa Covid unya taas-taas pud preparations, next year nalang jud para dili na delikado sa tanan."
Gilauman nang daan ang mas ubos nga ihap sa partisipante.
“Dili ta matingala ana. We understand the triathletes.”
Ang usa sa mga organizer nga si SEI general manager Princess Galura, nag-ingon sab sa Facebook chat interview nga mapasalamaton siya tungod sagad sa mga partisipante nakasabot sa sitwasyon.
“So far the people are aware that the mayor is just after the safety. This is good for Davao.”
Suma niya nga kung ihinayon nila ang lumba sa ikatulo o ikaupat nga kwarter, posibleng motigi ang Davao sa ubang lumba ug aktibidad tungod daghan sab ang misibog sa ilang kalihukan.
“It’s better for Davao na nauna nang mag-plan for 2021. Mas nakakahiya if we move it to September then hindi pa rin matutuloy. We never know when Covid will end but we hope for the best."
Sa pagsibog sa Ironman 70.3, ang Iron Girl Davao 2020 himuon sab sa Marso 19, 2021.
Mga organizers, nagpost og advisory sa Alveo Ironman 70.3 Davao Facebook page, ug nagsulti, “We trust your kind understanding on the matter as we give priority to the health and safety of all our participants.”
Ang 2019 Ironman Davao milabaw pa sa 1,800 entries gikan sa 28 ka nasud.
