Coronavirus deaths pass 300, total cases near 5,000

IN THE last 24 hours, 18 more persons were reported to have died from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the death toll in the Philippines to 315.

The Department of Health (DOH) also reported 284 additional confirmed cases, or a total of 4,932 as of 4 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2020.

Forty-five patients have also recovered, raising the number of recoveries to 242.

Covid-19 is caused by the novel coronavirus, or Sars-CoV-2.

Globally, the number of individuals infected with the Sars-CoV-2 has exceeded 1.69 million. The death toll was 105,952 as of April 12, the World Health Organization said. (SunStar Philippines)
