BARANGAY chairman Enrico Salcedo of Barangay Gusa clarified Tuesday that their petition for disqualification against a mayoralty candidate has not been cleared yet, contrary to what has been reported.
“We’re still waiting for the promulgation so the petition had not been resolved yet,” Salcedo said.
Salcedo’s statement came in reaction to the claim of mayoralty candidate Jasper Uy who is facing disqualification case filed by Cagayan de Oro first district Representative Rolando Uy, who is also seeking the mayoralty post in the city.
Earlier, during a candidates’ forum held in one of the private schools in Cagayan de Oro City initiated by RMN-dxCC, Jasper Uy said the disqualification case filed against him did not prosper and that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) allowed him to continue his candidacy as among the mayoralty bet in the city.
However, Salcedo said it is Uy himself who said it’s okay for him to continue with his candidacy “so gipasagdan lang namo siya aron matughan siya.”
He also emphasized that ballots had not been printed yet in areas where there are pending complaints so their group are not bothered about it.
Salcedo stands as campaign manager and at the same time spokesperson of Representative Uy. (ALR)
