69 people traced in Valencia for possible Covid-19 exposure

SIXTY-NINE people in Valencia City, Bukidnon, who may have visited the derby in Matina, Davao City or may have had interaction with the Covid-19-positive patient in Barangay Lumbayao who attended the derby, have been traced by the Department of Health (DOH) and the local government unit.

DOH-Northern Mindanao Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an said eight other persons in Cagayan de Oro City have been traced for their participation in the derby on March 12.

"Sixty-nine ka tao ongoing gihimoan ug contact tracing in Valencia City alone, for that one person nga nag-positive and there's another ongoing eight ka tao ang atong gihimoan ug contact tracing in Cagayan de Oro in relation to that case in Valencia," he said.

"So ongoing ni siya kay gusto nato icontain, kung naa may magdala ug virus diri, ato dayon palibotan, atong kulungon nga dili makagawas ang virus and we can only do that by contact tracing," Suba-an added.

(So this is ongoing because we want to contain the spread of the virus and the only way is through contact tracing.)

The derby is now tagged as the ground zero of the Covid-19 infection in Davao City and other parts of Mindanao.

In Davao region, some 25 Covid-19-positive patients are linked to the New Davao Matina Gallera cockpit in Davao City.
