PLDT, Globe to further extend payment due date

PLDT Inc. and Smart Communications Inc. said they will start implementing on May 1, 2020, a six-month installment payment program for the outstanding monthly bills of postpaid subscribers. The move is meant to ease the financial burden of their customers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Under this payment program, PLDT Home, Smart and Sun consumer postpaid subscribers can settle their unpaid balances as of April 30, 2020, in six equal monthly payments with zero percent interest and no penalties.

“We hope that through this payment program, we will help keep you connected whether you are at home, the office, or elsewhere after the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period. As one community, we will get through these challenging times together,” said Manuel Pangilinan, PLDT Inc. chairman and chief executive officer.

Meanwhile, Globe Telecom also announced that it is extending its payment due date for its postpaid mobile and broadband bills by another 30 days in line with the extension of the ECQ. The payment extension also includes business and enterprise customers.

“We have initially provided a 30-day extension which expires on April 15. In effect, we have given a 60-day credit extension or at least two months of unpaid bills,” Globe Telecom said in a statement.

For consumers who wish to make their payments ahead of time, they may do so anytime via the GlobeOne, Globe at Home and GCash apps. (KOC with PR )
