GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson clarified Wednesday, April 15, that Negros is slowly going back to normal life with some adjustments on the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to be implemented starting April 20.

He said the province is still under ECQ until April 30.

Lacson pointed out some adjustments with the ECQ includes allowing the operation of tricycles and trisikads and resumption of constructions all over the province.

Restaurants, auto parts stores and hardware will also open.

The governor emphasized the mandatory use of face masks when going outside the house and social distancing.

Lacson said border check up points will continue but public utility vehicles and buses are still not allowed to operate.

He added that the adjustments were agreed during his meeting Wednesday morning with the 21 mayors in the province who attended.

Meanwhile, Lacson also confirmed that a plane arrived in the province on Tuesday and fetched stranded Canadians in the province.

Six crew members of the said plane are now under the mandatory quarantine at Mambukal Resort in Murcia, the governor said.

He also revealed that 45 construction workers from Iloilo are arriving today and will also undergo the 14-day mandatory quarantine.

The governor added that of the 35 Overseas Filipino Workers who arrived Tuesday from Cebu, 34 are doing well while a swab sample was taken from one. The OFWs are considered as Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) and are now under quarantine at the Healing Center at the Yolanda Housing in E.B. Magalona.
