THE Pampanga Capitol headed by Governor Dennis Pineda personally received 600 cavans of rice donation from Ramon S. Ang of San Miguel Foundation at the Capitol grounds on Monday, April 13.

According to Pineda, the said donation will be used as supplement to the “Bigas para sa Mahirap” program that he initiated to help the vulnerable sectors and other less fortunate Kapampangans during the enforcement of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) over the entire Luzon.

“Asahan po ninyo na makakarating ang mga ito sa ating mga kababayan na ang buhay ay maituturing na ‘isang kahig, isang tuka’, gaya ng mga minimum wage earners, ‘no work, no pay’ at displaced workers, solo parents, at transport groups,” the governor said.

Prior to this, it can be recalled on April 8 that Pampanga Councilor’s League (PCL) President Venancio “Asyong” Macapagal also donated cash, amounting to P250,000, intended for purchasing additional rice aid for Kapampangans greatly affected by the ECQ.

Meanwhile, Pineda expressed his overwhelming gratitude to various local government units (LGU), private groups, and individuals for their non-stop support to the provincial government in the midst of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

“Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng tulong at suporta na inyong ibinibigay sa pamahalaang panlalawigan. Asahan po ninyo na hindi kami titigil sa paggawa ng paraan para patuloy naming matugunan ang inyong mga pangangailangan sa araw-araw habang patuloy nating nilalabanan ang pandemyang ito,” he said.
