ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., has ordered the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) to apprehend violators of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) protocols.

Lazatin said in a statement issued April 14, that mobile police will patrol around the city to monitor if there are individuals engaging in leisure activities outside their homes, which are prohibited during the quarantine.

He also directed the village officials to prohibit public consumption of alcohol; playing basketball and other sports activities; loitering; and reprimand individuals who are not wearing face masks in public.

Violators will be reprimanded and asked to return to their homes.

“Let us practice discipline so that this pandemic will be over,” Lazatin said.

This stemmed after an assessment by ACPO concluded that people usually gather in essential establishments, without proper social distancing and not wearing of face masks.

In line with the city government’s stricter enforcement of quarantine provisions, one person is only allowed to go outside to purchase basic necessities and other emergency needs.

Lazatin is also appealing to the essential establishments managers and security teams to help implement the rules of the ECQ.
