Senior citizens benefit from medical mission

MABALACAT CITY – Hundreds of senior citizens in this city benefitted from a medical mission set by the Mabalacat City Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (Osca).

OSCA head Rizalino Tuazon said that his office initiated the medical mission in line with the Elderly Week 2016 celebration which was held at the Jade Hall, Xevera Lot Only in Barangay Tabun.

Among the services extended to the seniors were free medical examination and distribution of medicines by the City Health Office and Rural Health Units, according to Tuazon.

Aside from these, the Rotary Club of Dau sent barbers and therapists and provided free haircuts and massage to the elderly.

City officials led by Vice-Mayor Christian Halili earlier led the donation of five wheelchairs to selected senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The wheelchairs were funded by the Gender and Development (GAD) of the City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Josie Basilio Tanglao.
