Gonzales, in an interview, said he is dedicated to bringing more social services to senior citizens of the district.

“We are gearing towards much bigger medical missions for seniors. We are recognizing the fact that there is a greater need to address the health needs of our older generation. They need health services so that they can live the rest of their lives without any physical discomfort,” Gonzales said in the vernacular.

Gonzales shouldered the expenses for the medical mission, including laboratory fees for surgery related testing.

He said senior citizens from as far as Arayat town came to the medical mission. The senior citizens were brought to Barangay Sindalan by their respective barangay captains.

Cornelio Mallari, 83, from Mesulo, Arayat, said he can now see well because of the free cataract surgery.

Mallari stressed that he can now be productive at home and would no longer be a burden to his housemates.

“Now I no longer need anybody to usher me around. I can now do household work and help my family in little tasks,” Mallari said in the vernacular.

Meanwhile, more medical missions are expected to be hosted by Gonzales in the coming months.
