PHILIPPINE pharmaceutical consortium IP Biotech Group, through its subsidiary, Family Vaccine Specialty Clinics Inc., teamed up with Creative Pacific Corp. to finance and construct two emergency quarantine facilities (EQFs) for the Ospital ng Muntinlupa and three EQFs to hospitals in Cabanatuan and Palayan City.

The donations come as an initiative from the two companies to help hospitals treating Covid-19 patients increase their capacity.

Family Vaccines Specialty Clinics Inc. (FVSC) is one of three subsidiaries under the IP Biotech Group that engages in the distribution and administration of vaccines through its network of clinics nationwide. Its official partner, Creative Pacific Corp., is a diversified holding and investment company engaged in real estate development, provision of BPO facilities for both office and residential spaces.

The sponsored EQFs brought about by the partnership have been acknowledged and approved by the City Governments of Muntinlupa and Nueva Ecija, projected to be completed in late April and late May respectively.

The Muntinlupa facilities are considered to be Phase I of the joint initiative, set to begin construction immediately, while the facilities in Nueva Ecija will be placed under Phase II of the construction plan.

Designed by the WTA Architecture + Design Studio, the firm is known for the EQFs they have built for hospitals in Metro Manila. The rectilinear facility is patterned after the firm's signature Boysen Pavilion erected at the 2019 Anthology Festival.

Each EQF meets the World Health Organization's guidelines on airflow and spacing -- equipped with a sanitized area, changing area, nurses lounge, testing box and disinfection showers.

The facility will treat confined patients for viral infection symptoms and can house up to 15 patients under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs).

"We see it as our responsibility to help our country fight Covid-19 and help increase capacity of our partner hospitals and LGUs. We are committed to helping our frontliners during this moment of need. I also want to thank WTA Architects and Design Studio for their cost effective and rapid build design. This initiative would not have been possible without them," said Enrique Gonzalez, chairman of Family Vaccine Specialty Clinics Inc.

With over 41 clinics across 18 provinces, FVSC is one of the largest privately-run chain of vaccination clinics in the country and possesses a 15-year track record of creating partnerships that deliver quality health care services to Filipinos. FVSC has cumulatively served over 700,000 patient visits since its inception.

Other subsidiaries that comprise the IP Biotech Group consortium are vaccine importer and distributor IP Biotech Inc., as well as a minority stake in Apollo Plus Distribution Inc. specializing in cold chain warehousing and distribution of regulated consumer healthcare products. All products and services available under the consortium are licensed by the Food and Drug Administration. (PR)
