Guv considers filing leave of absence during campaign

NEGROS Occidental Governor Isidro Zayco is entertaining the idea of filing a leave of absence at the start of the campaign period.

The campaign period for local officials will start Friday, March 26.

Zayco, who is making a comeback as Mayor of Kabankalan City, said that although he is unopposed, he still has to campaign for the other members of the United Negros Alliance (UNA) from governor to board members.

He said he will also campaign for Gilbert Teodoro, the standard bearer of Lakas-Kampi-CMD Party, being the provincial chairman.

The governor, however, said that Vice Governor Emilio Yulo III is also running for board member of the fifth district and that he cannot take his place if he files a leave of absence.

Zayco described the official campaign salvo as a low profile campaign with a mass. (TED)
