Public told to follow ECQ guidelines

THE public is urged to strictly follow the guidelines on curfew and related notices during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the coronavirus disease (Covid–19) pandemic.

Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) on Monday, April 20, reiterated they will strictly enforce implementation of the Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR).

Brigadier General R’win Pagkalinawan, PRO–COR director, explained the police will continue to implement all existing laws in the region aside from Covid–19 related measures.

“We will strictly impose the guidelines ordered by the President with regard to the APOR. While doing this, we will continue to do our duties in consistently enforcing the laws,” Pagkalinawan said.

The PNP issued guidelines on the strict implementation of APOR stating only those exempted will be allowed to travel during the enhanced community quarantine.

Under the guidelines, medical, funeral, security services which include emergency responders, workers in utilities and daily essentials like banks and markets, workers involved in essential goods, skeleton forces of the government, media personalities, overseas Filipino workers, agribusiness and agricultural workers and civil aviation-related workers are allowed.

“We would like to stress that only one person from the household is allowed to go out to buy basic necessities and essentials. Extreme social distancing measures, home quarantine and restrictions on travel and movement are initiatives imposed to help flatten the curve or significantly slow down the virus transmission among a population,” Pagkalinawan added.
