ABOUT 63 tricycles and trisikads (pedicabs) were impounded by the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters from March to April 21.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Tuesday, April 21, since the implementation of city’s enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), a total of 214 erring tricycle and trisikad drivers were fined.

Aside from the 214 violators, he said BTAO impounded a total of 63 units of tricycles and trisikads.

He added the erring drivers were arrested in various areas of Bacolod.

Pico noted that during the ECQ, public transportation has been suspended.

“The ECQ will end on April 30 so let’s cooperate to prevent and stop the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19),” Pico said.

He said that BTAO along with the BCPO will continue its operations against erring drivers in various areas.

Meanwhile, a total of 19 persons in Bacolod City were also arrested by BCPO for violating curfew hours on Monday, April 20.

Pico said the 19 persons were arrested in various areas in the city for violating curfew hours from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

He said the violators were arrested by personnel of Police Stations 2 and 7. They were given a warning and were released.
