20 new Covid-19 cases; Central Visayas' total now at 366

THE number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Central Visayas climbed to 366, with 20 additional cases reported Thursday, April 23, 2020.

The Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas, with the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center sub-national laboratory, released Thursday a total of 356 test results, of which 21 were Covid-19 positive, including one repeat test of a previously confirmed case.

No additional deaths and "laboratory-negative" patients as of Thursday. The death toll remains at 10, while 24 have already tested negative for the new virus.

Of the additional positive cases, 16 are residents of Cebu City, two are persons deprived of liberty (inmates) from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Cebu City Jail, while the other two are residents of Lapu-Lapu City.

Cebu City now has a total of 329 cases (with 16 laboratory negative and six mortalities), Lapu-Lapu City with 20 cases (1 laboratory negative), Mandaue City with nine cases (two laboratory negative and one death), Negros Oriental with four cases (2 deaths and 2 laboratory negative), Cebu Province with three (2 laboratory negative and 1 death), and Bohol with one case (recovered).

Siquijor remains Covid-19 free as of Thursday, April 23, 2020. (WBS)
