A TOTAL of 219 families have already benefitted from the “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” program since it was launched on April 13, 2020.
The program aims to reach out to indigent families who are vulnerable to recruitment activities and agitation of communist-terrorist group during the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
The “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” Program is done at least once a week to sustain the beneficiaries’ basic needs. The selected families belong to the poorest of the poor in their respective communities. The number of beneficiaries is expected to increase until the enhanced community quarantine is lifted.
Beneficiaries received vegetables, rice, canned goods, noodles, eggs, hygiene kits, and coffee.
The provider, for the purpose of this concept, is referred to as “kabayan”; while the recipient family will be called “kapwa”.
The objective of the program is also to build an atmosphere of cooperation, benevolence, and closer relationship among those who cannot sustain a prolonged quarantine in the community regardless of their status in life.
It is also seen to bridge the gap among the members of the community and create an environment of generosity, compassion, and respect.
This will allow a more harmonious relationship in the barangays and pave the way to an environment where “Malasakit, Responsibilidad at Sakripisyo para sa ating kapwa Pilipino ay nananaig upang masugpo ang Covid-19.”
The program is spearheaded by the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) through the fifth Civil Relations Group (CRG), CRSAFP. Families in Asuncion and Panabo City, Davao del Norte, Cagayan de Oro City, and different Barangays in Davao City have already benefitted from the program.
The activity is also being held in partnership with REACT Echo-Panabo, Pineapple Group-Cagayan de Oro, Double Dragon Properties Corporations, and Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation.
This simple gesture was made possible through the Bayanihan of the Eastmincom represented by the Fifth CRG in collaboration with several stakeholders.
