Archery for a cause slated March 25-27

ARCHERS from around the regions will set their sights anew as the Baguio City Ipanayan Scouts Archery stages the BCNHS Invitational shoot for a cause slated March 25 to 27 at the City Archery Range.

Top archers are expected to take center stage in the event which aims to generate funds for the completion of the Baguio City National High School Archery range and give training to interested individuals who want to learn archery.

“Through this activity, we hope that we will be able to finish the archery range at the Baguio City National High School,” said BCNHS archery coach and event organizer John Hongitan.

Hongitan said the activity will also aim to hone the knowledge, physical and psychological skills of all participants in the three day activity.

The archery tournament will be open to all BCNHS students, scouts and other interested individuals who wish to join the shoot for a cause which will be culminated by a summer archery clinic this coming April.

A P100 registration fee will be charged to beginners while P200 will be asked to shell out for regular archers, according to Hongitan.

Tournament proper will start on the 26th while a training and lecture on archery skills including practice rounds will be slated on the 25th.

“The activity will also help motivate individuals in the quest for physical fitness thru archery and give merit badges for scout archers,” added Hongitan. (Roderick Osis)
