ANGELES CITY Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. has launched a greening project that aims to provide organic vegetables to every Angeleño.
As part of the “Luntiang Barangay Lingap” project, Lazatin has ordered the distribution of seedlings to all 33 barangays in the city beginning next week.
The greening projects aims to make organic vegetables available in every Angeleño’s backyard.
Lazatin procured a total of P5.5 million worth of seeds for the project.
Seeds to be distributed are okra, sitaw, petchay, mustasa, upo, kalabasa, sili, tomato, and talong.
The seedlings will be distributed per household alongside the food packs from the city government.
“Growing vegetables is a way of ensuring food sufficiency,” Lazatin said.
