Help hotline available for 5th district residents

RESIDENTS of Cebu 5th district who were not able to receive relief and aid from government during the ongoing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) may now message the office of Rep. Vincent “Duke” Frasco, who is launching a 5th District Covid-19 Hotline on Sunday, April 26, 2020.

“In this time of crisis, we hear a lot of cries for help. We will listen. We will hear them out and we will provide assistance,” he said.

The hotline will also cater to concerns of displaced public utility drivers, affected employees of small businesses, as well as displaced Overseas Filipino Workers due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The number of the hotline is 0908-354-0240. The public may also send an email to 5thdistrictcovidconcerns@gmail.com.

Frasco’s office will help facilitate concerns about the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s Small Business Wage Subsidy Program, as well as the program of the Department of Transportation, which provides assistance to displaced drivers.

Earlier this month, people in the 5th district’s 10 towns and one city received relief packs containing masks, rice and canned goods from Frasco.

Last week, Frasco through the Frasco Foundation donated an additional 1,000 sacks of rice that were repacked and distributed to sectors and households heavily affected by the ECQ in Danao City, Liloan, Compostela, Carmen, Catmon, Sogod, Borbon and the four municipalities in the Camotes group of islands.

“Akong panghinaut na kining tabang na atong gihatag makapahinumdom sa katawhan na dili angay mawad-an ug paglaum, na wala sila nag-inusara sa pag-atubang niining dakong krisis. Ug pamaagi sa atong pagtinabangay, maluwas kita niini (I hope the assistance we provide will remind people not to lose hope, that they are not alone in facing this pandemic. By helping each other, we will survive this crisis),” Frasco said.

Forms, list of requirements for the aid and instructions are available at Frasco’s official Facebook page and hard copies are available at Frasco’s district offices. (PR)
