Sungduan: Cooked meals

AN OVERSEAS Filipino worker (OFW) in Israel had one of the happiest birthdays of his life by making fellow OFWs smile amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Instead of celebrating his big day just for fun, caregiver Carlo Sebio opted to cook meals with his friends and personally delivered this to Cordilleran OFWs who are affected by the lockdown due to the pandemic.

In return, he was serenaded by his chosen beneficiaries who sang a birthday song and relayed their personal messages on posters which made his natal day even more unforgettable.

He said many Cordilerans in Israel lost their jobs, stuck at their flats, and need help.

A reason why he organized the timely activity with the help of his friends like Gerald Chanfing who immediately supported the mission upon learning about it.

Sebio, a son of a farmer and from Buguias, Benguet went to Israel as a caregiver in 2004. He has been working there for 17 years now.

His buddy Chanfang said Sebio is also known to fellow kakailians for being supportive especially to newcomers, industrious, and have strong faith in the Almighty.

An active supporter of the organization of the Igorot Migrants Workers in Israel and its subchapter Green Benguet Folks, he is also active in promoting the unique culture of the Cordillera in the said country.

There is no greater joy than making other people happy.
