FROM April 28 to 30, 2020, a total of 45 firearms and some bullets were surrendered by residents of mountain barangays in Cebu City through Oplan "Aluminum" by the Cebu City Mobile Force Company (CMFC).

Some of the surrendered firearms include a .30 caliber Carbine, two .22 caliber revolver, five .38 caliber revolver, two snubnose .38 caliber revolver, two 5.56mm revolver Frontier, one .45 caliber pistol and three .357 caliber revolver.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Corret, chief of the CMFC of the Cebu City Police Office, this is in line with the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to the Philippine National Police to strengthen its campaign against criminality through his Executive Order 70.

The order aims to erradicate local communist armed conflict in the country. (AYB/JGS)
