JOHN Galendez hit a total of 849 pinfalls after four games to emerge champion in the Datba Lanemasters Tournament held at the NCCC Mall B3 Centrum on Tuesday night.
Galendez, who placed third in the 5th Araw ng Dabaw Tenpin Classic recently, bested Danny Usman who rolled 836 pins and Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) president Virgilio "Billy|" Magdale who garnered 795 pinfalls.
Vic Te and Ronald Martin placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the weekly singles competition last Saturday night, Ian Ancheta clinched the gold medal with his 809 pinfalls while Romy Tocop (792) settled for silver and Sonny Dimaano (780) salvaged the bronze.
Manny Nierra and newly-crowned Araw tenpin champion Art Galendez wounded up in the next two spots of the event that serves as qualifying for the monthly finals that offers cash prizes to the winners. (MLSA)
