Tarlac police on alert during Labor Day

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Tarlac Police Provincial Office (PPO) was on alert on Friday, May 1 to prevent assemblage or rallies which disregard the guidelines being implemented under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

According to Police Provincial Director Police Coronel David Poklay, only authorized persons outside of residence will be allowed to go outside based on the guidelines given by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Since the beginning of ECQ on March 17, the police recorded a total of 615 violators who were arrested and whose cases were already filed in court for having committed prohibited acts.

During the Labor Day holiday, the provincial police also held a relief distribution activity.

The relief drive called, “Pagpupugay sa mga Manggagawa Ngayong Mayo Uno,” which aims to aid labor workers who were affected by the ECQ, was held in partnership with Joint Industrial Peace Concerns Office members in Tarlac.

Poklay thanked sponsors and benefactors for their support to the activity.
