THE coronavirus disease and the extended enhanced community quarantine in Bacolod City have somehow stimulated some positive vibes for well-known local makeup artist Carlos Durana.

His intense experience in acting and theater led him to use the digital platform to show his artistry in acting and makeup.

“Because of the coronavirus pandemic, I have ample time to spend at home that even led to boredom. And finding new and creative ways to spend my downtime while staying at home can inspire us to venture on new endeavors. I am used to working every day where I have various makeup appointments, weddings, and debuts among others. So, with this ECQ, my routine is to wake up early in the morning, fix myself and I start to work on my digital undertaking in order to combat boredom,” he said.

Such direction has always been in his plans but he never had time. And it’s good that with the ECQ, he was compelled to do it with all the free time in his hands.

“The ECQ is a blessing in disguise because I started to do makeup vlogs where I transformed myself to various makeup styles from sultry makeup look, glam look, to Korean makeup look, and even fantasy makeup look. In fact, I also transformed the faces of my family members using various makeup styles including my eight-year-old nephew where I transformed him with the looks of a joker,’ he shared.

As to how he started his makeup vlog, he invited his friend model and celebrity, Kirst Viray, to do an interview with him and workout routines through a video call.

Then, he also tried and got hooked to digital mimicry or the prominent Tiktok as influenced by his nephew.

“I had several ways of dealing with my boredom. I was having fun with Tiktok using drama, comedy, and even dance. A lot of my friends were messaging me that they were happy with what I am doing. And they are always looking forward to my posts on Facebook. I am also happy to learn that my friends are happy with what I am doing. In a way, I helped them relieve their stresses too.”

Durana urged his viewers to continue watching him doing the Tiktok and his videos over YouTube: Carlos Durana makeup studio. Netizens can also subscribe and follow him in Facebook / Instagram / Tiktok Carlos Durana Make-up Studio, and YouTube: Carlos Durana.

Moreover, he continues to pray for his fellow Negrenses and Bacolodnons for us to endure this crisis.

“Prayers can help us endure this hardship. We continue to stay at home because with only a single wrong move, many will be affected by the Covid-19,” he said.
