26 repatriates in NegOcc to be transferred to hotel

THE 26 overseas Filipino workers (OFW) who arrived in the province on April 28 will be transferred to a hotel in Bacolod City on Monday, May 4.

Zeaphard Caelian, head of the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division said that the transfer will be made after lunch on Monday.

The transfer was arranged by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in response to the request of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson after he received some negative feedbacks from some families of the OFWs about the poor facilities in E.B. Magalona healing center.

Caelian said one OFW who was with the same batch who arrived on April 28 will be left at the healing center after he was tested positive in the rapid testing antibody.

Meanwhile, Caelian also confirmed the arrival of 68 Negrenses who were stranded in Manila on May 2.

They are not OFWs but Negrenses who were stranded in Manila and have been wanting to go home.

They were able to come home via Cebu Pacific flight and were safely sent to Mambukal Resort for a mandatory 14-day quarantine. The Provincial Health Office attends to all their needs. Meanwhile, 11 Negrenses backed out from the said flight, the Capitol reported.

They are considered as persons under monitoring and will undergo rapid test.They will stay at Mambukal until they finish the 14-day quarantine period.
