FOUR women were arrested after they were caught in possession of over P6 million worth of illegal drugs Wednesday afternoon in Makati City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Thursday.

In a report, the NCRPO identified the arrested suspects as Agatha Caray, 45; Mary Grace Caray, 41; Abegail Caray Calvez, 37; and Jovy Ribaja, 37.

The four were arrested during a drug bust conducted by the NCRPO, Ermita Police Station 5 and Makati Police Station inside a house in H. Santos, Tejeros St. in Makati City around 2 p.m. of May 6.

The operation stemmed from an intelligence information about the illegal drugs trade in the said areas.

During the operation, one of the police officers acted as a poseur buyer and proceeded to the place of transaction where the suspects gave him a slightly ripped open rectangular package wrapped in brown packaging tape. The box was found to contain suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu).

Recovered during the operation were more or less one kilogram of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million and drug paraphernalia.

The arrested suspects were subjected to a drug test before they were presented to the Office of the City Prosecutor in Makati City for inquest proceedings.

In a separate drug sting in Barangay Sangandaan, Quezon City, on Wednesday evening, police arrested John Dennis Dimaano, 26; Jonalyn Galvez, 27 and John Avedaño, 25.

They were all listed as drug personalities of the said police station.

A poseur buyer was able to buy P850 worth of illegal drugs from Dimaano but seven more plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth around P149,000 were recovered from the trio.

In Tondo, Manila, police arrested Yuki Sabile,30; Ronaldo Bignotea,37; Albert Gruta, 27;

Christian Habab, 23 and Jiel Quizmondo, 29 Thursday dawn, May 7.

The police said personnel of Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) Manila Police District Station 1 were conducting an anti-criminality operation and implementing the curfew in connection with the enhanced community quarantine at around 2 a.m. when they chanced upon the suspects.

Recovered from the suspects was shabu worth around P278,000.

The arrested suspects will be facing charges for the violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

"It is extremely saddening to know that amid this health crisis, there are still those who flagrantly violate the law despite our constant reminder and plea for cooperation. Nonetheless, may this serve as a warning to those who are engaged in similar felonious activities that your Metro Cops will not lax in its anti-criminality and anti-illegal drugs campaign to ensure public safety as we all face the hurdles brought by this pandemic,” NCRPO Director Debold Sinas said.
