THE Department of Health (DOH) reported 292 more cases of coronavirus infections Monday, May 11, bringing the total past the 11,000 mark.
As of 4 p.m., Monday, the DOH said it has listed a total of 11,086 cases.
Seven more patients died, raising the death toll to 726.
The number of patients who have recovered went up by 75 to 1,999 as of Monday.
As of May 10, the DOH also reported that the number of laboratories licensed to undertake diagnostic RT-PCR tests for the novel coronavirus, or Sars-CoV-2, has gone up to 26.
The target is to raise this to at least 78 by the end of May and bring up the average number of tests conducted per day to at least 30,000. A total of 90 laboratories are applying for accreditation.
The agency also reported that community-managed isolation and treatment facilities called Ligtas Covid facilities have a total of 41,634 beds while state-managed facilities called Mega Ligtas Covid facilities offer 1,348 beds.
In hospitals, a total of 13,238 beds have been set aside for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients.
Of the total, 9,189 are isolation beds, 1,299 are intensive care unit (ICU) beds and 2,750 are ward beds.
About four of 10 beds are currently occupied.
Meanwhile, the DOH said there are 1,930 ventilators in the country. About one in five is in use. (With a report from JTM/SunStar Philippines)
