113 test negative for coronavirus in Northern Mindanao



SOME 113 individuals, including 75 health workers, have tested negative for Sars-CoV-2, which causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH)-Northern Mindanao said Tuesday, May 12.

The breakdown of the negative results are as follows:

* 75 health workers from Northern Mindanao Medical Center

* 4 patients from Cagayan de Oro City

* 1 from Iligan City

* 3 individuals from Valencia City

* 1 from Malaybalay City

* 1 from Talakag, Bukidnon

* 7 individuals from Camiguin

* 15 individuals from Misamis Occidental

* 1 person from Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental

* 3 from Lanao del Norte

* 2 patients from outside of Northern Mindanao

DOH-Northern Mindanao Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an said the health worker from Tudela, Misamis Occidental who earlier tested positive for coronavirus has now tested negative in her repeat test.

Also, the Covid-19 patient from Lanao who is currently admitted at Northern Mindano Medical Center (NMMC) also tested negative in his repeat swab test, NMMC medical officer Dr. Bernard Rocha said.

Meanwhile, the regional health office is working to fast-track the Covid-19 testing centers in the region.

Suba-an said there will be four testing laboratories in Cagayan de Oro, the DOH-TB referral center, another will be placed at NMMC, Polymedic Plaza, and PNRC.

"Anaa na sa stage 3 sa evaluation ug sugod sunod semana, ipahigayon na ang proficiency testing (stage 4) sa mga maong laboratoryo ug kun mopasar ang mga pasilidad niini, mamahimo nang makasugod sa independente nga Covid-19 testing dili pa man mahuman ang Mayo o sa mga unang mga adlaw sa Hunyo, ning tuig (The facilities are now at stage 3 of evaluation and starting next week, proficiency testing [stage 4] will be conducted in the said laboratory and if its facilities will pass, they will be able to do independent Covid-19 testing before May ends, or on the first few days of June this year)," Suba-an said during the regular press conference on Covid-19 updates Tuesday, May 12.
