AROUND P1 million worth of illegal drugs were recovered while three suspected drug sellers were arrested during a raid in Barangay Pitalo, San Fernando town on Monday night, May 11, 2020.
Arrested during the operation were Vergel Luna Jr, Carlo Collados and Anthony Balmori, residents of Sitio Kimba-San Roque, Barangay Cansojong, Talisay City.
Police Capt. Efren Diaz, San Fernando town police chief, said they conducted the operation against the three men after receiving word that they were smuggling illegal drugs from Talisay City to the town even during the province-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
The three suspects would reportedly smuggle the drugs via motorcycle from Talisay City then transfer to a private multicab before reaching San Fernando, Diaz added.
Diaz said the three were considered as “high-value drug targets.”
Diaz believes that the three would use San Fernando as a distribution area as the illegal sale of drugs in the southern part of Cebu has lessened due to the ongoing ECQ. (BBT, JKV)
