Limlingan: Some acts of kindness

IN TIMES of adversities, there are a number of soft-hearted people who, without any hesitation, show some kindness to others. Perhaps its human instinct to be kind to people when in distress.

In these trying times of the pandemic, sharing has been a major activity around the world. Governments, aside from their duty to look for the welfare of their subjects, have been kind enough to supply food, medicines and financial assistance to people.

Regardless of the complaints from many critics, we should appreciate the fact that governments are doing their job in this global health crisis. We should see the brighter side and not the other side.

Frontliners, medical or non-medical have been at the fore, exposing themselves to the greatest health hazards we face today. In fact, a number of them have been indeed exposed to the virus and some meeting their demise unfortunately.

Aside from sharing their expertise, their professions, their time, they have also shared their lives so that others be cured from sickness and live. The sacrifices they are giving to mankind is the ultimate act of kindness they manifested.

Some private entities and individuals who are sharing their resources for the less fortunate are showing kindness so that no stomachs would go hungry or be safe from getting infected through the doling-out of food items and protection from the disease.

The sharing of relief goods have become a usual activity these days. The acts of supposed recipients of these who beg-off to receive their rations so that theirs would be shared to others is heroic. This is also a form of kindness.

The are civic organizations, which, these days have been very active in their charitable and benevolent activities as a way of helping others combat the present health crisis that is affecting the economic activities of man.

Acts of kindness, great or small is prevalent now that we are facing the pandemic and trying to survive amid its effects and the threat of being spread further. When times like these, the natural kindness of man exudes and is being shown not only in our country but the whole world.

Yesterday was mother's day. Allow me to greet all the mothers a happy day as we appreciate their natural kindness as mothers.
