Cervantes: Prepare for the warning
WHAT author Brian Kranick of the Catholic Exchange wrote recently has always been the same point I have often stressed: “Everything we do of value in the eyes of God gains us eternal merit, reward, and glory in heaven for all eternity.”
Everything, every moment. You have the F... or P... expression as a matter of course? You always had the option to keep your lips sealed but you instead shrugged shoulders and flowed with peer trends. Even such a “little thing” becomes written in eternity for which some accounting will be deemed.
Notes Kranick: “If every careless word is recorded and accounted for, then, likewise, every good word, prayer, sacrifice and deed is also recorded, and rewarded.”
Indeed, the freeze of the Covid 19 should give us time to reflect on the spiritual, the eternal.
Kranick has put it aptly: “This pandemic shutdown is, if nothing else, a time for us to hit the “reset button” in our lives. As money and livelihoods are slipping away and diminishing, we remember that everything in this world is fleeting. As Ecclesiastes says, all is vanity! Our tenuous existence is a reminder that we need to keep our eyes on heaven — our true eternal home. This lockdown is an opportunity for us to focus more on the weightier things of life and eternity.”
“Each little action, word, deed, prayer, or sacrifice that we do in our mortal lives is recorded. Think of that. In each passing moment, God ‘time-stamps’ an eternal recording of it. Each instant in time passes never to return again. However, we will see these time-stamped moments reviewed at our Last Judgment. They are the measure by which God will judge us,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, as Covid-19 leads us to spiritual introspection if not rejuvenation, there is need to acknowledge the biblical “signs of the times.” Allow me to pick up from renowned Catholic writer Michael Brown in his spiritdaily.com site in regard to the Warning that this column had dwelt on in a series.
Brown quotes the Blessed Mother as follows:
“My Dear Children, when you see these events, know that the time of your WARNING will be very near: earthquakes /tremors, tidal waves / your earth falling in to the water, volcanos erupting where they have been quiet for years, weather changes, cold where its hot, and hot where its cold, severe weather, hurricanes, tornadoes monsoons, etc., severe world economy problems, stock market problems, famine / droughts water shortages, murder and hate crimes rampant, wars and attempts at war, showing of powers, crop damages, crop failure, animal population dying, sickness.
“Right now, my children, you should be praying to God to Mitigate these awful events that are to befall on you. Keep yourselves in or near a state of Grace, Pleasing to God.
1. Pray, for the conversion of sinners, for the aborted babies, for all the lives that are taken, for the abuses against God, the sacrileges, for the Masonry that has entered your churches, and the city of Peter, for your Holy Priests, your Pope. Pray your Rosary.
2. Attend Mass, practice your Sacraments of Confession and Communion, read your Scriptures, and live your Commandments from God.
3. Be loving of heart and kind to all those you come in contact with, try to teach them of your Faith, your scriptures. Show how loving you are to God, and tell of His love for all of mankind.
4. Store up some foods and water, have Blessed Candles to burn for light Keep with you Holy Water, Salt, and Oil.
5. Make sure you have blankets, and a first aid kit on hand.
6. Keep your Sacramentals on you and in your homes and vehicles. Your Bibles and prayer books. I gave you one with prayers that you may need as the end times progress.”
AND THEN THE Blessed Mother talks about the Warning as follows:
“This I tell you every child, man and woman, on your earth, at the same instant of time, regardless of, nationality, religion, where they are, or what they are doing, WILL experience this Warning. It will be your soul bared before you. You will know every sin you ever committed, every unkind word, deed, thought that wasn’t pleasing to God. You will know where your soul stands with God, Your Father. Many things will have to be accounted for, my children, and at this time you will know what they are, and HOW to account for them, even the unbelievers, will know what they must do to make their souls clean for God, to prepare for My Son, Jesus’ second coming. When this Warning comes, all peoples will know that what has been prophesied to you was true, and will know the coming events WILL occur, as stated in Sacred Scripture.” (To be continued)
