5 sitios in Tejero under lockdown

DUE to the rise in cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the area, five sitios in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City have been placed on lockdown effective May 15, 2020.

Tejero Barangay Councilor Jose Randy Gorion said the sitios are ICM, IKP-Daclan, Macarosa, Sampaguita and Vilgon.

Gorion said Looban is not included in the lockdown, but the residents in the sitio will also be provided with relief goods since there is one Covid-19 patient in the area.

With the lockdown, Tejero Barangay Captain Hermogenes Galang Jr. said, the residents are not allowed to go outside their respective sitio, excluding those who need to get dialysis.

At least 941 families are living in the five sitios, he added.

Galang said persons have been assigned in each sitio whom residents can ask to buy medicines and vitamins.

He added that a vehicle will also transport residents who need to get dialysis.

The barangay officials agreed to place the five sitios on lockdown due to the continuous increase of Covid-19 cases in the area.
