THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will continue the checkpoints in the city’s boundaries for the implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ) starting Saturday, May 16.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Friday, the 27 inner check-up points in the city will be removed, but those in the city’s boundaries will continue its check-up points operation.
These areas include the boundaries of barangays Handumanan, Granada, Bata, Mansilingan and Sum-ag.
Pico said each boundary will have two check-up points that will be supervised by BCPO along with the other frontliners from City Health Office (CHO), Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) and other barangay volunteers.
He said policemen who were earlier assigned in the city’s inner check-up points will be deployed to various terminals and public markets to ensure the compliance of social distancing and wearing of face mask.
Pico noted that policemen who were assigned in the city’s boundaries will be equipped with protective gear and thermal scanner.
He said they will wait for the guidelines on the implementation of GCQ to determine if they will require a home quarantine pass (HQP) in the city’s boundaries or not.
“We will wait for the guidelines if we will require them an HQP or we will only consider the identification cards or employment certificate for those who will enter Bacolod,” Pico said.
The police spokesperson added that BCPO is still in full alert status.
