A 32-YEAR-OLD pregnant woman is the latest Covid-19 patient recorded in Talisay City, Cebu.

Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony "Samsam" Gullas Jr. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, announced in a Facebook post that the patient is from Barangay Tabunok.

The patient was swab tested in Perpetual Succour Hospital in Cebu City before her scheduled cesarean section, a protocol of the hospital.

"PT17 is a 32-year-old female from Barangay Tabunok. Swab test was taken last May 15 at the Perpetual Succuor Hospital. Protocol ni before her schedule cesarean section. Meaning padung siya manganak," Gullas said.

Gullas added that authorities have already contacted her family and have placed them under home quarantine. Police and barangay officials also cordoned their house.

The family members are scheduled to take the swab test in the coming days.

"Again I apologize for the bad news... we need your prayers yet again," Gullas said.

Talisay City now has a total of 17 cases of Covid-19 with six deaths and one recovery.

Earlier, the National Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases granted the appeal of Gullas to reclassify the city under modified enhanced community quarantine from general community quarantine from May 20 until May 31. (JCT)
