A LOT of us today are in dire need of alcohol. Our supermarkets, groceries, and pharmacy shelves have been emptied. Well, some hoarded them. Some sold them online for about 5x or more their value. It’s a shame that greed supersedes in these times of health emergency.
Well, if there’s no more alcohol that you can get around. We have a solution. Don’t fret.
A study conducted in the University Medicine Greifswald, Institute for Hygiene and Experimental Medicine in Germany found out that these viruses can survive in inanimate objects like metal, glass, and plastic for up to nine days. The study also revealed that these viruses are sensitive to disinfection using ethanol 62-71 percent, 0.5 percent hydrogen peroxide or 0.1 percent sodium hypochlorite in just a minute.
In another study, it was also found out that corona and influenza virus are sensitive to three percent concentration of hydrogen peroxide within one to 30 minutes. Thus, we can use 20 percent of hydrogen peroxide and dilute this with same amount of sterile water. You can add four drops of essential oil in one liter of solution that you can make. This is the alternative, if we can’t find any alcohol in the market.
There’s another one from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. You can use one tablespoon of chlorine powder and mix this with two liters of water. You can use this to disinfect your soiled clothes and surroundings. For hands, add one tablespoon to 20 liters of water. If you are using bleach solution, add one part to nine parts of water for disinfecting your surroundings. For your hands, get one part of the mixture and add nine parts of water.
I hope this will help us all. Good luck and please don’t forget to pray.
