40 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Cebu City

THE Cebu City Health Department (CCHD) on Friday, May 22, 2020, reported that 40 more people have contracted the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in Cebu City to 1,854.

Based on CCHD's latest data, the new cases came from Cebu City Jail (nine), Punta (one), Bacayan (one), Kamputhaw (three), Calamba (one), Sawang Calero (one), Pasil (two), Luz (four), San Nicolas Proper (one), Duljo (two), Mambaling (two), Labangon (three), Sambag 1 (one), Suba (one), Guadalupe (two), Sambag 2 (two) and Bulacao (one).

Most of the cases are asymptomatic patients or those who do not show symptoms of Covid-19.

According to the Cebu City Public Information Office, Mayor Edgardo Labella has already ordered the transfer of the patients to their respective Barangay Isolation Center.

The mayor reminded the public to stay inside their houses and follow the orders of the City Government.

The CCHD also recorded 116 Covid-19 recoveries in the city.

Cebu City is under enhanced community quarantine until May 31. (JGS)
