The arrested suspects were identified as Arnold Marchan Delos Reyes, an alleged drug group leader, and Joemarie Candido, 26, a newly-identified drug personality, according to Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer.

Galvez said Delos Reyes was arrested by the regional command's Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) in a buy-bust operation around 12:20 p.m. Thursday, May 21, in Governor Ramos Avenue in Santa Maria village, Zamboanga City.

Galvez said seized from the possession of the suspect, the leader of the Delos Reyes drug group, were some P40,800, P500 marked money, and a motorcycle.

Galvez said Candido was arrested in possession of some P10,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu and P200 marked money in another drug bust around 10:45 p.m. Thursday in Sun Street in Tumaga village, Zamboanga City.
