Mayor asks biz group to prioritize hiring Angeleños

MAYOR Carmelo Lazatin, Jr., appealed to the members of the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MACCII) to prioritize Angeleños in providing job opportunities amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Lazatin discussed his appeal during a meeting with MACCII representatives on May 20, wherein he asked them to hire 80 percent of their workers from Angeles City and 20 percent workers from nearby towns and cities.

“Pinulong ko po ang mga miyembro ng business sector sa Angeles City upang makiusap sa kanila na maging prayoridad ang mga Angeleños na makapagtrabaho sa kanilang mga establisyemento,” Lazatin said.

Lazatin also vowed to seek the help of Angeleños to patronize local goods produced by businesses in the city.

Representatives of MACCII will also release their office guidelines aligned to that of the City Government, in accordance with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases and Department of Health.

They also discussed the Interim Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of Covid-19 wherein private establishments that have been allowed to operate during the modified enhanced community quarantine are enjoined to test their employees for Covid-19.
