Gunman kills businessman; 2 others unscathed

A BUSINESSMAN was killed while two of his associates escaped unscathed in a shooting incident in Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Sunday, May 24.

The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office identified the victim as Cezar Pintado, 35, a businessman and a resident of Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.

The police said the incident took place around 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Purok Alaska in Gatas village, Pagadian City.

The police added investigation showed that Pintado was in a meeting with his two associates, whose identities were not revealed, when a lone gunman appeared and shot the victim.

The gunman missed his target prompting the victim to run but was tailed and pinned by the suspect.

The suspect fled when the victim fell dead on the ground, the police added. (SunStar Philippines)
