The said food packs came from Visayas Disaster Response Center (VDRC), Cebu City for DSWD Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) - Negros Occidental. It will be prepositioned in the province as relief augmentation in case an immediate need for relief goods.

It can be recalled that since the lockdown was declared in Negros Occidental, the Army reservists were active participants and augmented our frontliners manning several Quarantine Control Points in Bacolod City and all over Negros province. This is to ensure that there were enough forces to man the setting-up of several Inter-Agency Covid-19 Quarantine Monitoring and Regulation Task Force Control Points in the province.

Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander lauded the support extended by the Army Reservists particularly the female Reservists who continued to volunteer to extend support in the fight against Covid-19. It clearly shows their selfless dedication as Army Reservists and proved that gender is not a hindrance in serving their fellow Negrenses.

“Your Army in Negros will continue to provide the necessary assistance to support the efforts of our local government units in the fight against Covid-19 in the province,” Pasaporte added.
