7 LGUs in NegOcc fail to complete SAP distribution

SEVEN local government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental have failed to complete the distribution of social amelioration program (SAP).

Records of the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) regional office showed that these LGUs are the cities of Bago, Kabankalan, Sagay, Silay and Victorias and the municipalities of Ilog and Isabela.

There are still 35 LGUs in Western Visayas who are still conducting pay- out distribution.

The processing for the second tranche of the SAP will not start until the distribution of the first tranche will be completed and liquidated by all the LGUs.

Ma. Evelyn Macapobre, regional director of the DSSD in Region 6, said she hopes that all the 133 LGUs in the region can complete the SAP distribution by May 24, the deadline set by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

We still have to validate the list of beneficiaries of the SAP for the first tranche before processing the second tranche, Macapobre pointed out. As of May 21, there are 98 of the 133 LGUs in the region that have completed the SAP pay-outs and only 67 LGUs have submitted their liquidation reports, records showed.
