3 nabbed, P320,000 shabu seized in anti-drug stings

THREE suspected drug dealers were arrested, while P320,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in two separate anti-illegal drug operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, the police reported Monday, May 25.

Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspected drug dealers as Argen Quilap-Quilap, 29; Antonio Ignacio, 42; and Jomas Casalta, 33.

Galvez said Quilap-Quilap and Ignacio were arrested in possession of P120,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu and P500 marked money in a drug bust around 8:20 p.m. Sunday, May 24, on Unity Drive in Tetuan village, Zamboanga City.

The joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested Casalta in another drug bust around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in East Poblacion village in Rizal town, Zamboanga del Norte.

Recovered from Casalta's possession were P200,000 worth of shabu, P500 marked money, P460 cash of different denominations believed to be proceeds in illegal drug sale and prohibited drug paraphernalia.

Galvez said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are set to be filed against the suspects, who were currently detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
