Pelco-3 offers installment plan for bills during MECQ

APALIT -- To ease the burden of its consumers after this lockdown, Pampanga III Electric Cooperative (Pelco-3) is offering an installment plan on the payment of bills during the stretch of enhanced modified enhanced community quarantine.

Pelco-3 general manager Elizabeth Urbano said payment of bills for March and April can be spread over to four months starting May without additional interests.

"Our member-consumers can visit our payment office at the Pelco-3 to arrange their proposed installment plan if they want to avail of this option," she said.

Urbano, meanwhile, said those who wanted to settle all their bills can also do so either via their office in Barangay Sampaloc here, or through payment centers identified by Pelco-3.

The provision for staggered payment scheme is part of Pelco-3's measure to assist its severely-affected consumers from the more than two-month lockdown, said Urbano.

It could be remembered that aside from easing of payments, Pelco-3 also waived the bills of about 10,453 residential consumers who consumed 50 kilowatt-hour or less during the month of March.

Urbano said Pelco-3 re-aligned the funds supposedly for the conduct of Annual General Membership Assembly for the said program dubbed as "Pantawid Liwanag."

Asked if they will implement the same measure for the month of April, Urbano left no assurance but said that the cooperative is sourcing funds to further assist its consumers.

"Since we are a non-profit cooperative, we can only do so much. But we want to assure our member-consumers that we are doing everything we can to assist them in their electricity bills, while also providing the best service," she said.
