Body of missing fisherman found in Ajuy

THE body of the Negrense fisherman who was missing after his boat was hit by a cargo vessel last Friday, May 22, was found in the town of Ajuy in Iloilo on Monday, May 25.

Marlon Adigue Sr., 42, a resident of Sitio Pasil in Barangay 6-A in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, was found off the coast of Barangay Nasidman, Ajuy.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Negros Occidental chief, Lieutenant Commander Jansen Benjamin, said Adigue, along with 36-year-old Agustin Flores, went on a fishing trip on Friday evening when their boat was hit by a cargo vessel in the area dividing Victorias City, Negros Occidental and Ajuy, Iloilo.

Adigue was knocked off the fishing boat, while Flores managed to hold to the fishing vessel. Flores later managed to get the fishing vessel back to Victorias City under its own power, despite the damage it had incurred in the ramming.

Adigue's remains were brought to the Jaruda Funeral Homes and arrangements are now being made for the remains to be brought back to Victorias City.
