SOME of the roads surrounding the Provincial Capitol compound in Misamis Oriental have been closed.

Governor Yevgeny Emano said the road going to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) was closed. It is only intended for emergency vehicles going to the NMMC.

The NMMC is the referral hospital for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the region.

The road from the Press Freedom Monument going to the regional office of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was also cordoned and only those who have transactions with the NBI are allowed to use the road.

Emano said Capitol employees may use the road near the Misortel when they report for work.

"Ang atong dalan kani na lang gyod sa Misortel ug Provincial Jail moagi para sa atong mga empleyado," Emano said.

Emano said this move is to ensure that Capitol workers are safe from the virus.

"We are doing that because you know, there is local transmission already in Cagayan de Oro and some dili pa ma-trace, that's why we are protecting our employees because how can we respond to the needs of the people when our employees are also compromised," he added.
