P12M worth of shabu seized in Olongapo City

CAMP JULIAN OLIVAS -- Four drug suspects were arrested by police and numerous illegal drugs were confiscated on May 26 in Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City.

Joint operatives of Olongapo City Police Intelligence Branch and Olongapo City Police Drug Enforcement Unit conducted buy-bust operation along Laban St., Balic-Balic, Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City, resulting in the arrest of Archie Boy Usenar, alias Archie, a resident of Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City.

Also nabbed were John Mark Serica, alias Chokoy; Jeff Dennon Rivera alias Wami; and Michael Salac alias Ma Mike.

The poseur buyer was able to purchase one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet of shabu approximately weighing 0.65 grams from the suspects.

Also confiscated from the suspects' possessions were 17 sachets of small and big heat-sealed transparent sachets of shabu with approximate weight of 1 and 1/4 kilograms, 21 sachets of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu amounting to more or less P12 million, P4,000 and P1,000 marked money.

Appropriate charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 are being filed against the suspects.

Police Regional Office-Central Luzon Director Rhodel Sermonia said the region's police are continuously conducting proactive operations while invigorating their efforts to wipe out all forms of illegal drugs in order to achieve its quest for a drug-free Central Luzon in spite of its enormous tasks in the enforcement of the modified enhanced community quarantine.

"We will have no let-up on our crackdown on all forms of lawlessness amidst this lockdown," Sermonia added. (PR)
