CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- No incidents of abuse or human rights violation by police personnel were recorded on checkpoints installed across Central Luzon, the Police Regional Office (PRO) reported.
PRO-Central Luzon Director Brigadier General Rhodel Sermonia said all frontline police personnel are following all laws and regulations since the start of enhanced community quarantine since March 17.
Sermonia said a "one-strike policy" is being implemented for all officers who intend to abuse their authority for personal gain.
"We will never tolerate any abusive behavior from our personnel. In fact, a one-strike policy is in place in punishing those who might commit any wrongful action," he said.
Sermonia reminded policemen in Central Luzon, especially on the ground and those performing checkpoint operations, to always uphold the law and respect human rights at all times.
"I am also encouraging the public to report any erring cops as we continue our efforts on internal cleansing and those who will be found guilty shall be punished and dismissed," he added.
