THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is facing difficulty in identifying the perpetrators behind the killing of Randolf Domingo at Araneta Street, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City Tuesday afternoon.
Police Lieutenant Jonito Pastrana, chief of Police Station 9, said Wednesday, May 27, they have no lead yet on the identities of the assailants, whom they claimed to be not less than three armed men.
Domingo, 38, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, was standing in front of the gasoline station when an unidentified gunman, who was wearing mask on board a motorcycle, fired at him several times at about 12:50 p.m.
The victim sustained multiple wounds and died on the spot while the gunman along with his unidentified companions fled towards north direction.
Police recovered from scene of the crime seven empty shells of .45 caliber and three slugs of .45 caliber.
Police also recovered P200,000 cash, a machine pistol with silencer, magazine loaded with 15 live ammunitions, and a backpack containing wallet with a driver’s license of the other person inside the vehicle of the victim. They also recovered P7,000 cash from victim’s pocket.
Pastrana said they don’t have witnesses, and the footages of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera near the area are not clear to identify the suspects.
Investigation showed that before the incident, the victim alighted from his driven vehicle and walked towards the gasoline station. His wife and his mother were also inside the vehicle when the gunman fired at him while he was standing in front of the gasoline station.
“His activities were probably monitored by the suspects, it’s a well-planned to kill him in the area,” Pastrana said.
He said the gunman’s companions, who served as a look-out, were also on board a black vehicle.
The police are looking into business and drugs as possible motives in the killing of the victim.
Pastrana said Domingo engaged in buying of pigs as his business, and in previous years he was arrested twice in Bacolod City for violation of illegal drugs.
He said the victim’s family also refused to subject his body to autopsy, and they are uncooperative to the investigation.
“They also denied that the victim was involved in illegal drugs, but we received an information that he’s still active in illegal drugs activity,” he added.
Police Station 9 is still conducting a thorough investigation to identify and arrest the suspects.
