Alcohol firm donates relief goods to Apalit LGU

AN ALCOHOL fermentation plant donated food packs to the local government of Apalit to aid the residents of its host community.

Far East Alcohol Corporation (FEACO) Pollution Control Officer Mercy Simon on Tuesday turned over a total of 7,500 kilos of rice, 1,000 cans of sardines and 720 packs of instant noodles to local officials.

Simon said the donation is aimed at boosting the daily relief operations conducted by local government across the municipality.

“It is part of our company’s humanitarian mission amid this global crisis that we are experiencing. We hope that through this donation, we can mitigate the social effect of Covid-19 in our host community,” she said.

It could be remembered that Feaco was among the first to step up when threat of Covid-19 escalated by donating ethyl alcohol to the local government.

Mayor Oscar Tetangco, Jr., meanwhile, expressed gratitude to FEACO led by its General Manage Antonio Co for its continuous generosity to Apaliteños.

He added that the food packs will provide relief to families who are severely-affected by the lockdown caused by Covid-19.

“Although the lockdown has been relaxed, we continue to provide support to our constituents, especially who really have no means to sustain their daily living and this donation from FEACO will augment our resources,” he said.
