THE operation center of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 is now open round-the-clock to cater to queries about the Social Amelioration Program (SAP), including validation of beneficiaries.
The agency also did not stop its SAP grievance tracker, which so far received 37,875 messages from its official Facebook page, 1,498 emails, 2,703 calls and 3,454 text messages.
The oft-repeated question received by the DSWD 7 personnel was about the qualifications of the beneficiaries.
DSWD 7 Assistant Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero said they assigned focal persons to relay the queries and complaints to the local government units, including local social welfare officers and chief executives.
Before the SAP was released, the DSWD 7 had opened its operation center last March 24. The center became the operation hub in the SAP distribution in Central Visayas.
The DSWD 7 operation center can be reached at (032) 233-0261, 09177030967 and 09189122813; email@example.com; and DSWD Region VII official Facebook page.
The SAP is instituted by Republic Act 11469 (Bayanihan to Heal as One Act), which aims to mitigate the effects of the crisis brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019.
In Central Visayas, a total of 1,020,325 household beneficiaries have already received their P6,000 SAP assistance. This is worth P6,121,950,000 or about 96 percent of the entire P6.3 billion SAP fund allocated for the region. (HBL)
